#388 - Back to Jogja

Yesterday afternoon I arrived at Husein Sastranegara Airport at about 12.35 PM. I came early to surf the net using the wi-fi, he3... :) The airport was pathetic (small check-in area, small departure lounge, it was not even ready when I arrived there).

At 2.30 PM we got onboard (Merpati) and at 2.35 PM we took off from runway 29 (I actually hoped runway 11 so we could see the city of Bandung, ha3... :) ). The aircraft was Boeing 737-228/adv reg code PK-MBZ. Before landing at Adisutjipto Airport, we made several turns and it surprised me when I saw the ocean through my window (my seat was 8 A) which means we were heading west (Bandung is to the west of Yogyakarta). So, there were 2 possibilites:

1. we would land at runway 27 (from the east) which I hated since that meant we wouldn't see Yogyakarta from above

2. We just made some turns while descending to make the height appropriate or letting some other planes took off from Adisutjipto first

I then count the distance between the sea and the ground beneath us and it was about only 15 km. Since Jogja is 30 km from the sea, so possibility number 1 was eliminated... :) My guess was right, in few minutes we made another U-turns and we passed Yogyakarta before we landed through runway 09, ha3... :)

Btw, last midnight there were 2 earthquakes in Yogyakarta!! I was enjoying my good and precious sleep when the ground shoke. They were 7.5 SR earthquake but they were not as catastrophic as 27th May earthquake since the epicentre was far from Yogyakarta (it was to the north-west of Indramay, West Java). On the first earthquake, I got up quickly and woke my bro up then we ran downstairs. Once we were downstairs, the earthquake stopped. But few seconds later another earthquakes occured and we (along with my parents, grandma, and maids) ran outside the house

Btw, today my friend and I went to Toga Mas Bookstore and bought nothing. Then we had lunch at Kiko Restaurant, he3... :)

Kemarin siang aku nyampe di Bandara Husein Sastranegara Bandung jam 12.35an. Aku dateng awal buat internetan sih pake wi-fi-nya, he3.... :) Airportnya menyedihkan banget (area check-in kecil, area keberangkatan mini, bahkan waktu aku nyampe bandaranya belom siap loh)

Jam 2.30 siang kita naik ke pesawat (Merpati) dan jam 2.35 kita take-off melalui runway 29 (sebenere aku berharap dari runway 11 jadi kan bisa keliatan Bandung, ha3... :) ). Pesawatnya adalah Boeing 737-228/adv kode registrasi PK-MBZ. Sebelum mendarat di Bandara Adisutjipto kita muter-muter dulu dan aku kaget waktu liat laut melalui jendela saya (kursiku 8 A tuh) yang artinya kita menghadap ke barat (Bandung kan ada di baratnya Yogyakarta). Jadi, ada 2 kemungkinan:

1. kita akan mendarat di runway 27 (dari timur) yang saya benci soale kan jadi gabisa liat Yogyakarta dari atas

2. kita cuma muter aja sewaktu menurun untuk mendapatkan ketinggian yang tepat atau untuk membiarkan pesawat lain take-off dulu dari Adisutjipto.

Trus iseng aku itung aja jarak dari laut ke tanah di bawah kita dan hasilnya sih kira2 sekitar 15 km. Karena Jogja terletak 30 km dari laut, jadi kemungkinan nomer 1 tereliminasi... :) Tebakan saya benar, dalam beberapa menit kita puter balik dan melewati Yogyakarta sebelum mendarat melalui runway 09, ha3... :)

Btw, tengah malam tadi ada 2 gempa mengguncang Yogyakarta!! Aku lagi menikmati tidur saya yang nyenyak dan berharga tuh. Gempanya berkekuatan 7 SR tapi nggak semerusak gempa 27 Mei soale episentrum-nya jauh dari Yogyakarta (pusatnya di barat laut Indramayu, Jawa Barat tuh). Di gempa pertama aku bangun dengan cepat trus aku bangunin adikku dan kita lari ke bawah. Begitu nyampe bawah gempanya selesai. Tapi beberapa detik kemudian gempa lain mengguncang dan kita (bersama ortuku, nenekku, dan pembokat) lari keluar rumah

Btw, hari ini temenku sama aku pergi ke Toko Buku Toga Mas dan nggak beli apa2. Trus makan deh di Restoran Kiko, he3.... :)
