#198 - Weekend and Monday

Last weekend was not really a weekend for me, since I had to do SO many OSPEK assignment. We got the assignment at Friday and that assignment had to be finished at Sunday. So, I was so busy and didn’t really have time to take a rest. On Sunday, I was also SO exhausted after having OSPEK program for the whole day. The more complete story will be posted next week, if I still have passion to write about it, he3… :)

Therefore, I tried to take a rest yesterday and today, since probably, just like last week, I won’t have any opportunity to take a rest at the rest of this week…. :( So, yesterday my friends and I went to Braga City Walk. I had never been there before. Well, it was not really like my expectation. I thought it was a big and crowded mall, but the fact (at least for last night) was it was like a “dead” mall. My friend told me that when he went there before, the mall was not as pathetic as last night, but at that time he went at the weekend. Anyway, last night we went to the foodcourt, and I tried Vietnamese food. It tasted good, but I didn’t really like the soup (I still prefer Tom Yam Soup).

Well, finally now I have already owned a USB Flash Disc 512 MB, so now I am able to upload pics again, just like before I moved to Bandung.

Akhir minggu yang lalu bukanlah sebuah akhir minggu untuk aku, soalnya aku harus mengerjakan banyak SEKALI tugas-tugas OSPEK. Kita dapet tugasnya tuh hari Jumat dan tugas itu sudah harus selesai hari Minggunya. Jad, aku kemarin sibuk banget dan nggak memiliki waktu untuk beristirahat. Hari Minggu aku juga SANGAT capek setelah mengikuti acara OSPEK sepanjang hari. Aku akan menulis cerita yg lebih komplit minggu depan, kalo masih ada nafsu untuk nulis tentang itu deh, he3…. :)

Makanya aku mencoba untuk beristirahat deh kemarin sama hari ini, soalnya kemungkinan, kayak minggu lalu, aku nggak akan punya kesempatan untuk beristirahat deh di sisa minggu ini…. :( Jadi, kemarin aku sama temen2ku pergi ke Braga City Walk. Aku blom pernah pergi kesana sebelumnya. Hmm, ternyata tidak seperti harapanku. Aku kira mallnya itu besar dan rame, tapi kenyataannya (paling nggak semalam) malah kayak mall “mati”. Temenku bilang kalo waktu dia pergi kesana sebelumnya tuh mallnya nggak semenyedihkan kemarin, tapi pas itu dia pergi kesana pas akhir minggu sih. Ngomong-ngomong, kemarin kita pergi ke foodcourtnya, dan aku mencoba masakan Vietnam. Rasanya enak juga sih, tapi aku nggak gitu suka supnya (aku masih lebih suka Sup Tom Yam).

O iya, akhirnya sekarang aku udah memiliki sebuah USB Flash Disc yang 512 MB, jadi sekarang aku dah bisa mengupload foto lagi, kayak sebelum aku pindah ke Bandung.

#196 - First Lecture & Stupid Funny Guy

Yesterday, finally after 3 months vacuum from studying, was my first day having lectures at college. According to the schedule, my first lecture (Elementary Statistic) was gonna start at 7 AM. So, at 6.40 AM I went to my college and waited near my lecture room. BUT then, because I had nothing to do, so I read some stuffs at the announcement board, and one announcement really shocked me: "Today, Elementary Statistic Lecture, AMA 1**-*, is CANCELLED". Arrrgggghhhh... . The day before, at 10 AM when I went to college, this announcement hadn't been placed there yet, so many of us and I didn't know, and we had to wait until 9 AM, when our next lecture was gonna start.

So, we decided to see our schedule of MKU lecture (MKU => lecture for all faculties, not only for us >> Religion). After that, it was still 8 AM in the morning, so because some of us hadn't had breakfast yet, so we went to a "warung" just accross my college. The time was ticking, and finally it showed: 8.55 AM. We had class at 9 AM, our class was in Building 9, which was pretty far from our place at that time, plus our class was at the 6th story!! Hmmm... . We had to be so quick. At 9.10 AM we arrived and finally we weren't late, apparently the lecture started at 9.15 AM. Arrrggghhhh.... :( At 10.45 AM, our first lecture finally finished.... .

Well, I remember a funny story. It was about 2 weeks ago when my parents were still here. We wanted to go to Southern Bandung but we were lost, so we decided to look for Merdeka Street, and we asked the direction to a guy who sold cigarettes. I asked: "Excuse me, can you please show me the direction to Merdeka Street?" He answered bla bla bla. Then, I re-said what he had just said just to make sure that it's correct, I said: "bla bla bla, is that right?" He answered: "Yes". I then asked: "So, after bla bla bla we will arrive at Merdeka Street?". He, shockingly, answered: "NOPE". WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well, again, just like last week, I also didn't watch Rockstar Supernova week 8, but before the elimination round aired, I had guessed Patrice would be eliminated this week, and YES!! My guess IS right!! :)

Kemarin akhirnya setelah 3 bulan vakum dari belajar, adalah hari pertamaku mengikuti kuliah di universitas. Berdasarkan jadwal, kuliah pertamaku (Statistik Elementer) akan dimulai jam 7 pagi. Jadi, jam 6.40 pagi aku pergi ke kampusku dan menunggu deket ruang kuliahku. TAPI kemudian, gara2 aku nggak ada kerjaan, aku membaca beberapa hal di papan pengumuman, dan satu pengumuman bikin aku shock: "Hari ini, Kuliah Statistik Elementer, AMA 1**-*, DIBATALKAN". Arrrgggghhhh... . Hari sebelumnya, jam 10 pagi pas aku pergi ke kampus, pengumumannya belom dipasanh disana, jadi kebanyakan dari kita kan nggak tahu, dan harus menunggu sampe jam 9 pagi dimana kuliah selanjutnya akan dimulai.

Jadi, kami memutuskan untuk melihat jadwal kuliah MKU (MKU => kuliah untuk semua fakultas, nggak cuma untuk kita doang >> misalnya agama). Habis itu, masih jam 8 di pagi hari, jadi karena beberapa dari kita belom makan pagi, makanya kita pergi ke warund di seberang kampus. Waktu terus berdetak, dan akhirnya menunjukkan jam 8.55 pagi. Kita ada kelas jam 9 pagi, kelas di Gedung 9, yang lumayan jauh deh dari tempat kita waktu itu, plus kelasnya ada di lantai 6!! Hmmm... . Kita harus cepet-cepet deh. Jam 9.10 kita sampai dan akhirnya kita nggak telat, ternyata kuliahnya baru mulai jam 9.15 pagi. Arrrggghhhh.... :( Jam 10.45 pagi, kuliah pertamanya akhirnya selesai... .

Hmm, aku inget cerita lucu. Sekitar 2 minggu yg lalu pas orangtuaku masih disini. Kita mau pergi ke Bandung selatan tapi kesasar, jadi kita memutuskan untuk mencari Jalan Merdeka, dan tanya arah sama laki-laki penjual rokok. Aku tanya: "Permisi, boleh tanya kalo dari sini mau ke Jalan Merdeka kemana ya?" Dia menjawab: "bla bla bla. Trus aku mengatakan ulang apa yg baru dia katakan untuk memastikan klo itu bener, aku tanya: "bla bla bla, bener kan?" Dia jawab: "Iya". Aku tanya lagi: "Jadi habis bla bla bla kita akan sampe di Jalan Merdeka?" Dia, dengan mengejutkan, menjawab: "ENGGAK". APA!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hmm, sekali lagi, kayak minggu lalu, aku juga nggak nonton Rockstar Supernova Minggu kedelapan, tapi sebelum ronde eliminasinya disiarkan, aku udah nebak kalo Patrice Pike akan tereliminasi minggu ini, daan IYA!! Tebakanku bener!! :)

#195 - Monday, Disguise in Blessing

Yesterday afternoon, at 3.30 PM, my friend and I went to Ciwalk Mall to look for some stuffs for OSPEKKA, then since sometimes I also felt my room hot, so we also decided to go to Carrefour Sukajadi (Carrefour and Ciwalk are NOT in the same place) to look for a fan after walking around at Ciwalk. At 4.30 PM, we left Ciwalk and walked across the street to Premierre Plaza to take some money at ATM (there is NO ATM at Ciwalk, isn't that weird??). Because I hadn't had lunch, so I had meal (blend between lunch and dinner) at Hoka-Hoka Bento at Premierre Plaza. I was so full after finishing having meal. After that, we caught a taxi to go to Carrefour Sukajadi.

After buying a fan, we planned to go home. BUT, when I was about to stamp my fan's guarantee card, a guy came to me and said that I got the invitation card to have meal for FREE at a new Japanese Restaurant there. I could bring as many people as I could and I could also order ANY food and drinks I wanted FOR FREE, BUT the card was valid only for yesterday. Arrrrgggghhhh, I had already been full at that time and if I had known that I was gonna get this card, I wouldn't have had meal at Hokben Restaurant (note: Hoka-Hoka Bento is also a Japanese Restaurant). But, finally we decided to have meal at that restaurant because we were greedy didn't want to waste this rare opportunity, he3... :) But I couldn't really taste and enjoy the food since I had been full.... :( Disguise in Blessing (was it still a blessing??)

Kemarin siang, jam 3.30 sore, aku sama temenku pergi ke Mall Ciwalk untuk mencari beberapa barang untuk OSPEKKA, trus karena kadang-kadang aku ngerasa ruanganku tuh panas, jadi kita juga memutuskan untuk pergi ke Carrefour Sukajadi (Carrefour dan Ciwalk tuh NGGAK berada pada satu tempat yg sama) untuk nyari kipas angin habis jalan-jalan di Ciwalk. Jam 4.30 sore, kita meninggalkan Ciwalk dan menyeberang jalan ke Premierre Plaza untuk ngambil uang di ATM (nggak ada ATM di Ciwalk, aneh kan??). Karena aku blom makan siang, jadi aku makan (gabungan antara makan siang dan makan malam) di Restoran Hoka-Hoka Bento. Aku jadi kenyang habis makan. Habis itu kita naik taksi untuk pergi ke Carrefour Sukajadi.

Habis membeli kipas angin, kita rencananya mau pulang. TETAPI, waktu aku mau mengecap kartu garansi kipas anginku, ada orang yang datang ke aku bilang kalo aku dapet kartu undangan untuk makan GRATIS di sebuah Restoran Jepang yang baru disana. Aku bisa membawa orang berapapun aku bisa, dan aku juga bisa pesen makanan dan minuman APAPUN yg aku mau dengan GRATIS, TETAPI kartunya cuma berlaku kemarin doank. Arrrrgggghhhh, aku dah kenyang waktu itu dan kalo aku tahu kalo aku bkalan dapet kartu ini, aku kan nggak bakalan makan di Restoran Hokben (keterangan: Hoka-Hoka Bento adalah juga restoran Jepang). Tapi akhirnya kita memutuskan untuk makan di restoran itu soalnya kita serakah nggak mau menyia-nyiakan kesempatan langka ini, he3... :) Tapi aku nggak terlalu bisa merasakan dan menikmati makanannya deh, soalnya aku dah kenyang.... :( Kesialan dalam berkat (atau masihkan berupa berkat??)

#194 - OSPEK, and Indodol

Hi all, sorry for not updating for 4 days, that was because in the last 4 days I had to join the OSPEKKA (school college orientation) program. Even now I have passed through all the 4 days program, I still haven't completed all the OSPEK program in this college. The first OSPEKKA which I joined in the last 4 days was a college OSPEKKA where everybody from all faculties had that program together. The second OSPEKKA, which I'm gonna have next week and 2 weeks later (on Sunday), is a faculty OSPEKKA, where I'm gonna have this OSPEKKA with my friends from the same faculty as I attend.

Well, talking about the college OSPEKKA, it was SO different with my thought before. I thought it would be hard, full of pressure, and also exhausting. Yes, it was exhausting since we had to attend from about 8 AM until 5 PM, but it was fun. So many games and fun things to do, but it was SO hot. When we had a college tour and listened to some presentations from UKM (similar with extra-curricular), we sat on 3 plazas at about 10 AM, 12 PM, and 3 PM and unfortunately, the sky was clear, so the sun-ray really burnt my skin, sometimes I felt that I was gonnabe faint, but luckily not. After going back to my boarding house, I found that I have just burnt my arms-skin and my bottom arms were red.... :( And also, yesterday I think, they set the microphone volume way too high, so it was SO loud, plus even the MCs have already used the microphones (device to make our voice becomes louder so it can be heard in a larger area), they still screamed spoke loudly, so, I hope you can imagine, it WAS TOO loud, and my ears were both pained and I had to close my ears with my hands.... :( But overall, it was fun.

Well, last night I watched the Result Show of Indonesian Idol season 3 Grand Final. And finally, Indonesia chose Ihsan as the next Indonesian Idol. Congratulations to Ihsan, but honestly, me personally prefer to see Dirly as the next Idol more than Ihsan. But that's okay...

This week I didn't watch the week 7 of Rockstar Supernova, but I heard that Zayra was eliminated.

Hallo semua, sorry nggak meng-update selama 4 hari, soalnya 4 hari belakangan ini aku harus mengikuti program OSPEKKA (orientasi sekolah universitas). Walaupun sekarang aku sudah melewati kesemua program 4 hari itu, aku masih belum menyelesaikan semua program OSPEK di universitas ini. OSPEKKA pertama yang aku ikuti 4 hari belakangan ini adalah OSPEKKA universitas dimana semua orang dari semua fakultas mengikuti program ini bersama-sama. OPEKKA kedua, yang akan aku ikuti minggu depan dan 2 minggu lagi (di hari Minggu) adalah OSPEKKA jurusan, dimana aku akan mengikuti OSPEKKA ini hanya dengan teman-teman dari satu jurusan denganku.

Hmm, ngomong2 tentang OSPEKKA universitas, ternyata SANGAT berbeda dario pikiranku sebelumnya. Aku pikir tuh bakalan susah, penuh tekanan, dan juga melelahkan. Bener sih kalo OSPEKKAnya melelahkan soalnya kan kita harus hadir dari jam 8 pagi sampe jam 5 sor, tapi menyenangkan koq. Ada banyak game dan hal-hal menyenangkan lainnya, tapi tuh SANGAT panas. Waktu ada tour universitas, kan kita harus mendengarkan ke beberapa presentasi tentang UKM (semacam ekstrakurikuler), kita duduk di 3 plaza pada jam 10 pagi, 12 siang, dan 3 sore dan sialnya, langitnya cerah, jadi sinar mataharinya benar-benar membakar kulit. Kadang-kadang malah aku ngerasa kayak mau pingsan, untungnya enggak. Habis balik ke kos, aku sadar bahwa aku baru aja membakar kulit tanganku dan lengan bagian bawah menjadi merah... :( Dan juga, kemarin menurutku, mereka menge-set volume suara microphonenya terlalu tinggi, jadi tuh SANGAT keras, plus walaupun MCnya udah pake microphone (alat untuk membuat suara kita menjadi lebih keras sehingga dapat didengar di area yg lebih luas), mereka masih aja teriak ngomong dengan kerasnya, sehingga, aku harap bisa dibayangin nih, KERAS SEKALI, dan telingaku menjadi sakit dan aku aku harus menutup telingaku dengan tangan.... :( Tapi keseluruhannya asik koq.

Hmm, semalam aku nonton Result Show dari Indonesian Idol musim 3 Grand Final. Dan akhirnya, Indonesia memilih Ihsan sebagai Indonesian Idol selanjutnya. Selamat untuk Ihsan, tapi jujur nih, secara pribadi aku lebih memilih untuk melihat Dirly sebagai Idol deh daripada Ihsan. Tapi nggak papa sih...

Minggu ini aku nggak nonton minggu ketujuh dari Rockstar Supernova, tapi aku denger sih Zayra tereliminasi.

#193 - The Most Expensive "Angkot" and Today!!!

Yesterday afternoon, my friends and I went to Ciwalk by an angkot (because we only had to catch one angkot to go there (note: angkot is a public mass transport vehicle)). Unfortunately, I got a similar (or even worse) experience with what happened with Engeltje at this entry). Actually before catching the angkot, I felt a strange instinct (or probably feeling) in my heart, I dunno why. The angkot we were was full of passengers and we had to sit so close to others. A young man (I guess at his 20s) sat next to me, and he got out from the angkot at the Cihampelas and Setiabudi T-Junction. Actually after that I felt something strange with my pocket, I thought my cellphone was misplaced so it felt so "unusual", so I just didn't care of it. Then, we arrived at Ciwalk, we got out, and yes, it was getting weirder and weirder, my pocket was EMPTY!!!! Arrrggghhhh..... . That 20s year old guy had just stolen my cellphone!!! Hmm.... . Then I told this problem to the driver and some other passengers (I was not really panic at all,I tried to be calm), tried to call it, but it was not inside the angkot, so it must have been stolen by that guy. I was pissed off, but there was nothing I could do. So I called my parents and told the truth, and I was permitted to purchase a new cellphone, and for sure, I lost most of my friends' contact number. That was SO annoying...

Actually, today, 16th August 2006, is my lil' brother's 15th birthday. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BROTHER!!! Last year, we could celebrate it together with my family by having dinner at Bumbu Pawon Yogyakarta, playing bowling, and one good news was that starting that day, we started using cable connection to surf the net. The whole story is able to be read at this entry.

Today, I also start my college-time, by having the first day of OSPEK. I don't know what's gonna happen, but let it just flow, and it will end pretty quickly next Saturday (well, I hope so, he3... :D).

Hmm, tomorrow is Indonesia's 61st Independence Day, so we are gonna have a ceremony tomorrow morning at college. Hopefully Indonesia will be a lot better than last year even so many disasters have appeared in this country right now.

Kemarin siang, temen-temenku sama aku pergi ke Ciwalk naik angkot (soalnya kan kita cuma perlu naik 1 angkot untuk pergi kesana (note: angkot adalah alat transportasi umum)). Sayangnya, aku mendapatkan situasi yang mirip (atau bahkan lebih buruk) dari yang dialami Engeltje di postingan ini). Sebenernya sebelum naik angkotnya, aku udah merasakan insting (atau mungkin perasaan) yang aneh di dalam hati, aku nggak tahu kenapa. Angkot yang kita naiki tuh penuh banget dan kita harus duduk berdempetan dengan yang lain. Seorang laki-laki muda (menurutku sih umurnya 20an) duduk di sampingku, dan dia turun dari angkot di pertigaan Jalan Cihampelas dan Setiabudi. Sebenernya habis itu aku merasakan hal yang aneh dengan kantongku, aku kira sih hapeku ya cuma kegeser aja jadi rasanya "nggak biasa", jadi ya aku nggak terlalu memikirkannya. Trus, kita sampe di Ciwalk, kita turun, dan bener aja, keadaan menjadi semakin aneh dan aneh, kantongku KOSONG!!!! Arrrggghhhh..... . Laki-laki 20 tahun itu baru aja mencuri hape saya!!! Hmm.... . Trus aku ngomong masalah ini ke sopir dan beberapa penumpang lainnya (aku nggak terlalu panik sama sekali sih waktu itu, aku mencoba untukkalem), mencoba meneleponnya, tapi hapeku nggak di dalam angkot, jadi pasti sudah dicuri sama laki-laki itu. Aku marah banget, tapi dah nggak ada yang bisa aku lakukan. Jadi, aku telpon ortuku dan aku diizinkan untuk beli hape baru, dan tentu aja, aku kehilangan banyak nomer-nomer hape temenku. Itu SANGAT menjengkelkan...

Sebenernya, hari ini, 16 Agustus 2006 adalah hari ulang tahun ke15nya adikku. Jadi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BROTHER!!! Tahun lalu, kita bisa merayakannya bersama dengan keluargaku dengan makan di Bumbu Pawon Yogyakarta, main bowling, dan satu berita bagusnya adalah dimulai hari itu, kita memulai menggunakan koneksi kabel untuk main internet. Keseluruhan ceritanya bisa dibaca pada postingan ini.

Hari ini, aku juga memulai hari-hari perkuliahanku dengan menjalani hari pertama dari OSPEK. Aku nggak tahu apa yang bakalan terjadi, tapi ya biarlah kesemuanya mengalir, dan ini akan berakhir dengan lumayan cepat besok Sabtu (hmm, aku harap sih, he3... :D).

Hmm, besok adalah Hari Kemerdekaan Indonesia yang ke-61, jadi kita akan menghadiri upacara bendera di kampus. Semoga Indonesia akan menjadi semakin baik dari tahun lalu walaupun banyak bencana yang sudah muncul di negeri ini saat ini.

#192 - Stupid Traffic, DVD, and Grand-Final

I think the traffic management in Bandung can be categorized as "poor". Just take a look at the illustration below to follow my explanation. Car A, from Street D, wanted to turn right to street A, and he stopped at the crossroad because of the traffic light. At the same time, car B, from Street C, also stopped because of the traffic light, B wanted to go north to street D. BUT, in Bandung, both the lights at street C and D turned green at the same time. Therefore, it was difficult for car A to turn right to street A because at the same time, car B (and also many other vehicles from street C) also went north passing the crossroad or even turned right to street B. So, the traffic here is a mess, I think it need to be reset so the chance of accident and traffic jam will decrease.

Well, yesterday I went to Bandung Electronic Center (BEC) and there I found a DVD shop. At first I had no intention to purchase any film since I'm not a big fan of film, but I was just curious with Swast's comment at this entry about the DVD series of The Apprentice. There, I found the DVD series of The Apprentice season 3 and season 4. Without any hesitation, I asked their price and after bargaining finally I was trapped conviced to purchase those DVDs. After checking them, fortunately they are in good condition. So, luckily, even there is no cable tv connection, at least I still can wacth full series of both season 3 and 4 of The Apprentice... :)

Yesterday, after watching the grand final of Indonesian Idol season 3 where Ihsan and Dirly competed for the next title, I think Dirly is gonnabe crowned as the next Idol. He was way too good for Ihsan last night. From 3 performance, Dirly knocked Ihsan down by, I think, 3 - 0, absolute victory in my opinion.

Menurutku, pengaturan lalu lintas di Bandung bisa dikategorikan sebagai "parah". Lihat deh ilustrasi di atas untuk mengikuti penjelasanku. Mobil A, dari Jalan D, mau belok kanan menuju Jalan A,dan dia berhenti di perempatan karena ada lampu merah. Pada waktu yang sama, mobil B, dari Jalan C, juga berhenti karena lampu merah, B mau pergi ke utara menuju jalan D. TETAPI, di Bandung, kesemua lampu di Jalan C dan D menjadi hijau pada waktu yang sama. Sebagai akibatnya, susah untuk mobil A untuk belok ke kanan menuju jalan A soalnya pada waktu yang sama,mobil B (dan juga banyak kendaraan yang lain dari Jalan C) juga bergerak menuju ke utara melewati perempatan atau mungkin belok kanan menuju jalan B. Jadi, lalu lintas disini tuh berantakan, dan menurutku sih butuh untuk diatur-ulang jadi kemungkinan dari kecelakaan atau kemacetan lalulintas akan berkurang.

Hmm, kemarin aku pergi ke Bandung Electronic Center (BEC)dan disana aku menemukan toko DVD. Pertamanya sih aku nggak punya maksud untuk membeli film soalnya aku kan nggak terlalu suka nonton film,tapi aku penasaran sama komentarnya Swast di postingan ini tentang seri DVDnya The Apprentice. Disana, aku menemukan seri DVDnya dari The Apprentice musim 3 and musim 4. Tanpa keraguan, aku tanya harganya dan setelah tawar-menawar, aku akhirnya terjebak diyakinkan untuk membeli DVDnya. Habis mengecek,untungnya semuanya dalam kondisi yang bagus. Jadi, untungnya, walau gak punya tv kabel, paling nggak aku masih bisa menonton seri penuh dari kesemua musim 3 dan 4 dari The Apprentice.... :)

Kemarin setelah menonton grand final dari Indonesian Idol musim ketiga dimana Ihsan dan Dirly berkompetisi untuk mendapatkan gelar selanjutnya, menurutku Dirly-lah yang akan dimahkotai sebagai Idola selanjutnya. Dia tuh terlalu bagus untuk Ihsan semalam. Dan dari 3 penampilan, Dirly memukul mundur Ihsan, menurutku, 3 - 0,kemenangan mutlak menurut pandanganku.
