#167 - My Answer

ENGLISH

So many people have been curious about my post-highschool study, and now I give my answer (he3.... :D). I ended up not getting the opportunity to study in Singapore... ( :(( ), but that's okay, not really a problem. Actually one month ago I also applied Australia, and I actually have been accepted by the univ to study there. But, because the cost is VERY high plus the weak and pathetic economy condition which sorrounds us these months, we (my parents and I) decided not to take the opportunity. So, I won't study abroad for my under-graduate study, and will study at Parahyangan University, Bandung. I also like studying in Bandung since (beside the univ is also highly-qualified) many friends also study there (if I study abroad, I will have no friend "accompanying" me there, so I will start from almost Zero again... :D).

Well, because these days Oggix has been error (now they use: "Anti-Spam Code" >> and I've tried it and we (or at least I) have to enter the code again, again, and again), I decide to dump it and use another one which is more "traditional" (probably I'll be back to Oggix after they fix all the problems...)

BAHASA INDONESIA

#166 - Who stole my car???

ENGLISH

Yesterday morning I dropped off my parents at the airport (they went to Jakarta) and after that, because I was still so sleepy, I went back home and continued "watching" my dream. FYI, I arrived at home at about 7.30 AM.

At 10 AM in the morning I got up and went downstair to have breakfast. Downstair, my grandma was shocked because I was there!!! Why was she shocked? That morning, at about 8.30 AM, one employee arrived at our house and asked: "Where is the car??" My grandma answered: "It's outside", but then the employee said: "No, it's not outside". Well, then my grandma thought I used the car at that time (actually at that time I was still sleeping in my room upstair). Because of that, she was SO surprised seeing me coming down. I was also shocked hearing the news that my car was LOST. I checked through the window and yes, it was not there. Then, I looked for the key and felt so relieved when I couldn't find the key (I looked for it on the table where I put it that morning after coming back from airport). Why did I feel so relieved?? At that time, I thought: "If somebody stole my car, he had 2 alternatives:

1. he had already owned the key >> If he chose this alternative, so the key MUST have still been in my house (or at least still on the table) > SO it's not the way he stole my car
2. he looked for the key IN my house >> this was so risky because it was in the morning and there were some people in my house (my grandma, 2 servants, employee, and some workers (about 4 people)), and IF he entered the house, somebody MUST have seen him, and of course he would have to look for the key in the entire house which was obviously very difficult > SO it's also impossible."

Therefore, I concluded that the "bad guy" was insider. And at that time, the only person that was supposed to be in my house but was not, was only my little brother. And yes, he was the one who used my car that morning. Actually what he did was also very risky since he still hasn't owned the driving license and he didn't EVEN know where the car registration is saved..... :( Arrgghhh, he caused the panic in my house yesterday morning.

BAHASA INDONESIA

#165 - So Pathetic

ENGLISH

This morning I read an article in newspaper, here it is (I quote it >> I also editted it a lil'):

MERPATI was slipped in Namlea

Merpati Nusantara Airlines Cassa 212 aircraft which flew route Ambon - Namlea at about 1 PM WIB was slipped at Namlea Airport . The aircraft was out from runway for about 40 meters. This aircraft carried 23 passengers and was slipped because of the wet and slippery runway. Merpati Ambon staff said that Cassa 212 aircraft has the capacity of 18 passengers and he hadn't got any information about this accident. This accident didn't cause any damage at the aircraft nor victim.

Well, I don't know why but I think Merpati often meets this kind of problem. Just several weeks ago, I also read that Merpati also got an accident (mainly because of the slippery runway, that's what they said). One thing that's really weird is the pax number. The aircraft capacity is JUST 18 passengers, and it carried 23 passengers! What!?!?!?!?!?! That's 27.78% more than the maximum number. I think this doesn't happen only at Merpati, but also at some other airlines. Garuda Indonesia operates Boeing 737-400 and the maximum capacity this airlines settles for this aircraft is 136 pax/flight, while Adam Air, which also operates Boeing 737-400, settles the maximum capacity for this aircraft is 170 pax/flight!!! I know that Adam Air settles this number because they have already counted it carefully and it's impossible to be potentially overload. Other airlines that also often meet problems are Lion Air - Wings Air (they operate mainly MD80s series). One of my parents' friend told us her experience flying with Lion Air several years ago. When it was flying, suddenly the oxygen masks came out and of course made the passengers panic (actually there was nothing bad happened, but there was technical error, so the masks came out....). What!?!?!?!? Hmm, what happen in Indonesia's aviation???

==Sunday==

Yesterday I didn't do anything special, in the evening I went to the church (not in the main hall, because it was damaged because of the 27th May earthquake), then after that I dropped my mother at Galeria. At 8.30 PM I picked my mum, and also took a photograph of my shop (Kassaya Galeria)... :P (promotion, he3.... :D)

BAHASA INDONESIA

==Minggu==

Kemarin aku sih nggak melakukan apapun yang istimewa koq, di sore hari aku pergi ke gereja (nggak di ruangan utamanya, soalnya kan rusak gara-gara gempa tanggal 27 Mei kemarin), trus aku nganterin mamaku ke Galeria. Jam 8.30 malem aku menjemput mamaku di Galeria lagi, dan ngambil foto tokoku (Kassaya Galeria)... :P (numpang promosi, he3.... :D)

#164 - Farewell High-School

ENGLISH

This evening, formally, our journey and struggle in high-school finally end. 203 third-year students and their parents came to school to attend the graduation ceremony which started at 6 PM in the hall (actually it started a lil' late since some friends didn't come on time). First, the students walked from their classes to the hall bringing candles in their hands (the choir group sang: "Lilin-lilin Kecil" (Little Candles) while we were walking into the hall). After we were all ready there, the graduation ceremony started by singing the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, then continued by praying. After that we listened to some speeches from the head of my school's foundation, headmaster, head of JB's alumna society, student representative, parents representative, and Romo Pamong. Then, school also gave rewards to some students (including me, he3... :D). After that, the graduation procession started. Each student walked to their class' homeroom teacher and got a trophy and graduation medal (I don't know the exact word, but you can see the pic below). Then, the ceremony ended, and we left the hall and shook hands to our teachers. After that I got the Memorial Book and went back home (after planning our class' farewell party next week... :D).

Talking about the show Indonesian Idol 3 last night, I think one more time, Indonesia got it right (even IMO Ilham and Sisi didn't deserve to be in the bottom three, but Brinet, who was voted off last night was also one of the weakest contestants last night... :D). IMO, the best last night was Maria (she sang: "When You Tell Me That You Love Me") and for me, Nobo was overated last night, he was good, but not that great to get that very high praises.

BAHASA INDONESIA

Ngomong-ngomong tentang show Indonesian Idol 3 semalam, menurutku sekali lagi, Indonesia memutuskan dengan benar (walaupun menurutku sih Ilham sama Sisi nggak berhak berada di tiga terbawah, tapi Brinet, yang tersisih semalam juga merupakan salah satu kandidat terlemah semalam... :D). Menurutku, yang paling bagus tadi malam adalah Maria (dia nyanyi lagu:"When You Tell Me That You Love Me") dan untuk aku, Nobo dinilai terlalu tinggi semalam, dia bagus sih, tapi nggak sehebat itu untuk mendapatkan pujian setinggi semalam.

#163 - My Exam Score

ENGLISH

Yesterday morning I went to school again to get my report book and final examination score paper. I was soo lucky... . I arrived at 8.50 AM (and many friends had already come before me), and I just sat in the hall. I saw 3 tables and a bench, so I concluded that we would get our stuffs there in the hall. My friend said it was gonnabe in the office, but I decided to still wait in the hall. And yes, 10 minutes later, the officers came to the hall, and I was pretty quick to stand in front of the lines (so I didn't have to queue for soo long (there were about 170 students queued, and I was the third person from the front, he3..)). Finally, after waiting for about just 5 minutes, I got my report book and score paper (pics below).

Before going back home, I bought some comics just across my school. Two of them were VERY cheap (Rp. 2,500.oo / comic) >> because they were old edition.... . That afternoon, I cancelled my plan to hang out with my friends.... :(

Dua diantaranya murah BANGET (cuma Rp. 2.500,oo / komik) >> soalnya edisi lama sih.... . Siangnya, aku membatalkan rencana untuk pergi jalan-jalan sama temenku... :(

#162 - A Wednesday (21/06) story

ENGLISH

This morning I got up at 7 AM, and today, according to the schedule, I had to go to school to sign and stamp my UAN/UAS/practical exam score paper (since the formal STK paper one hasn't been published yet by the government, so my school decided to give us a formal letter containing our score and this letter can be used when we proceed to university). I didn't know what time I should be there, and because there was no announcement about it last Monday, and last Monday it started at 9.30 AM, so I planned to depart at 8 AM. BUT, at 7.45 AM (after finishing my breakfast), my friend sent me an sms and asked why at that time i haven't been there, and he was already in the hall!! I thought we would have a meeting or something important in the hall, so at that time I departed to school in a hurry.

At 8.05 AM I arrived at school then directly went to the hall. Well, apparently, there was nothing important (announcement). Some third grade students were just standing in line in front of 2 empty tables. I asked my friend what we were gonnado. And he said we just needed to sign and stamp our letter but we still had to wait because the officers was still preparing them. Arrggghhhhh.... . Well, after waiting for about 10 minutes, then the officers came and each student started to sign and stamp. After for about 20 minutes, finally my turn came. After signing, stamping (with ink so three of my fingers were purpled by ink), and collecting our student card, it's over. I was permitted to go home, but before that I chatted with my friends then paid the last school tuition (it is unfair, we don't have classes the whole June but we still have to pay until June... :( ).

Actually this afternoon I planned to hang out with my friends. Unfortunately, because all my cars were occupied, so I had to cancel our plan.... :( Probably we will go tomorrow (if there is no obstacle). Then, because I didn't know what to do and couldn't sleep, I was on computer again and after being absent for sooo long I played
GO again online. I think because I haven't played it for too long, I have lost my sense and acuity. So, I have to train myself again from the beginning.... :(

BAHASA INDONESIA

Aku tanya temenku kita disuruh ngapain dan dibilangi kalo disuruh tanda tangan sama mengecap surat tetapi kita mesti nunggu soalnya petugasnya masih mempersiapkannya. Arrggghhhhh.... . Sesudah menunggu selama sekitar 10 menit, akhirnya petugasnya datang dan tiap murid mulai menandatangani dan mengecap. Habis 20 menit menunggu, akhirnya giliranku tiba. habis menandatangani, mengecap (dengan tinta, jadinya tiga jariku jadi berwarna ungu gara-gara tintanya), dan mengumpulkan kartu pelajar, selesai sudah. Aku diijinkan untuk pulang, tapi sebelum itu aku ngobrol-ngobrol dulu sama temenku trus bayar uang sekolah yang terakhir (nggak adil juga, kita nggak sekolah sepanjang bulan Juni tapi uang sekolah kita harus bayar sampe Juni... :( ).

Sebenernya siang tadi, aku berencana pergi jalan-jalan sama temen-temenku.
GO online lagi. :(

#161 - The Day of Truth

ENGLISH

This is message number 161, actually 161 is a "sacred" number for my schoolmates because my school building's number is also 161 and also is located at Laksda Adisutjipto Street, so sometimes we call it LA 161... :P

Okay, today is the day of truth, where we, the third grade students, would know our UAN, UAS, and practical examinations result and the decision whether we pass or fail from high-school. Well, actually this year the government decides the standarts that we have to complete are: there is NO score under 4.26 in all subjects, and our average score for all subjects is not less than 4.51 (the score ranges from 0 to 10).

At 6 AM this morning before I went to school, I read an article in
Kompas and it said that around 9% of high-school students in DIY (my region) FAIL in the examinations, which means they have to study again in the third year of high-school 1 more year because there is no remedial test for them who fail. Then, I went to school and met my friends. We didn't know what to do, so we just waited for further announcement. And at 7 AM, the vice-headmaster announced that the third grade students should assemble in the hall at 9.30 AM. What!?!?!?!?!? 9.30 AM!?!? I was so sleepy this morning (because I slept at 2.30 AM) and had to wait by doing nothing?? Arrrggghhhh.... . Because of that I went to the internet cafe just across my school this morning while I was waiting. At 9.15 AM I went back to school and at 9.30 AM, we had to go to the school hall.

At that time, my friend told me that one of our friends also fails in the exams, they said usually, if somebody fails in this exam, the night before the announcement (so it means last Sunday night), school will call him and tell him that he fails, so he won't come at the day, and yes, that guy didn't come this morning. Some friends felt relieved after hearing that info, because we can conclude (from that info), if we come to school this day, it means we PASS. BUT, our meeting in the hall really ruined some of my friends hope and joy.

Our vice-headmaster said that last night, he and some other teachers tried to deliver some letters for them who fail the exam, however, because the adresses of those students were wrong (especially them who live at boarding house), and because of limited time, so some letters couldn't be delivered last night (and at that time he showed some envelopes in his hand). Most of my friends started dreading again and felt nervous again. During all the speech in the hall, my friends were all very quiet and really did listen to the speech (usually they don't and keep talking with others). Then, the moment of truth finally came, our headmaster would read the result (school average score, the highest and the lowest score for each UAN subject; and the percentage of failure). He started with social stream. "Bahasa Indonesia, school average: 8.99" >> whoooo, 8.99 is DAMN HIGH. "highest score: 9.8, lowest 8". "English, school average: 8.5" >> wow, it's also great!! "highest score: 9.7, lowest 6.xx". Then, the last and the hardest one: "Economy, school average: 7.xx; highest score: 9.8, lowest score: 5". And all social students cheer, they all 100% pass the exam (but many students from science stream are still quiet)!!! Then, he moved to science stream. "Bahasa Indonesia, school average: 8.90" >> whooo, some were surprised because social's average is higher than science's average, usually, science's score is higher... . "highest score: 10, lowest score: 7.xx" >> still quiet, Bahasa Indonesia is relatively easier.... . "English, school average: 8.67; highest score: 10, lowest score: 6.xx" >> still quiet, because math is the evil of death for many students, so being safe at Bahasa Indonesia and English don't really make them feel safe... . "Math" >> the situation became more quiet. "school average: 6.8x, highest score: 10, lowest score:" >> some were pale "3" >> noooo... , three is under the minimum standart, so it means somebody has/have to fail. And the percentage of failure is 0.74% (so, 99.26% of science students pass). At that time, I count how many students who fail, and I knew there are 136 science students, if we take 1%, so we get 1.36 students, 0.74% is under 1%, so it means only 1 student fails. So, how about the letters?? Then, we got the answers, my vice-headmaster then said that he actually ONLY BROUGHT ENVELOPES!! There was NOTHING inside them!! Arrrgggghhhh, so all students who came to to school this morning all PASS the exam!!! And we were permitted to read our score on the boards.

My score is pretty good. For UAN, I got 9.6 for Bahasa Indonesia; 9.4 for English; and 10 for math (so the total is 29.00; that's the second highest in my school, the highest one is 29.07). Then, for UAS and practical examination, I got the highest score at school, I don't remember my score, because there are so many subjects (I just remember some of them, BUT I will write it all here after I get my STK >> my score is written there). And because in the end we acumulate all score (UAN, UAS, and practical examination), I get the highest mark, he3... :D After that, all students (from the first to third grade) assembled in the hall and we all close our disaster centre, and after that we had lunch together....

BAHASA INDONESIA

Disasters in Indonesia

ENGLISH

In the last 2 months, some disasters happened in Indonesia. The raising activity of the most active volcano in the world, Merapi, started it in the middle of May 2006 when the status of this volcano finally reached: "Awas!!" (Danger). Then, almost two weeks later, when most people paid attention to that volcano, unexpectedly, a 5.9 Richter Scale earthquake shook Jogjakarta and many casualties died, many buildings collapsed and broken, etc. Then, some other earthquakes also happened in some parts of Indonesia (Wamena, Lampung, etc). In Sidoarjo, East Java, outpouring of gast and hot mud happened and caused the hot mud flood tragedy around the area. The hot mud has already reached the Gempol - Surabaya freeway and this freeway had to be close some days ago. Last Wednesday, just one day after the status of the volcano Merapi was descended to: "Siaga!!" (Alert), a large hot ash (and also lava) from that volcano destroyed the recreation site near Kaliurang, Kali Adem and 2 volunteers died inside the safety bunker there (the bunker was not good enough and it was designed to protect people from hot ash but not from hot lava, that's what some people said).

When will we be free from disasters that keep coming like this??? It doesn't make us (or at least me) feel comfortable.... :(

Well, talking about the show Indonesian Idol last night, I think once again, Indonesia got it right by eliminating Tesa. IMO, if I have to score the performances last night, it will be: Nobo (6.5), Sisi (7.5), Dirly (7), Brinet (5.3), Ilham (7.3), Maria (8.3), Tesa (5), Christy (6.7), Ihsan (7), and Gea (8). And the bottom three last night based on the votes were:
8. Sisi
9. Christy
10. Tesa >> voted off
Yaay, finally Indonesia and I had the same opinion... :) >> because I watched this show, I didn't watch the match between Argentina vs Serbia - Montenegro where Serbia was trounced six to nothing.

BAHASA INDONESIA

Hmm, Ngomongin tentang show Indonesian Idol semala, aku kira sekali lagi, Indonesia benar dengan mengeliminasi Tesa. Menurutku, kalau aku harus menilai penampilan semalam, menjadi: Nobo (6.5), Sisi (7.5), Dirly (7), Brinet (5.3), Ilham (7.3), Maria (8.3), Tesa (5), Christy (6.7), Ihsan (7), and Gea (8).
8. Sisi
9. Christy
10. Tesa >> tersisih
Yaay, akhirnya Indonesia sama aku punya pendapat yang sama... :) >> gara2 nonton show ini aku gak nonton pertandingannya Argentina vs Serbia - Montenegro dimana Serbia kalah telak enam nol.

Controversy: "Lion King"

ENGLISH

I guess most of you know the famous animation film made by
Walt Disney in 1994: "Lion King". To read this cartoon synopsis, click here. And probably some of you also know that one part of this film has been a controversy due to the word "SEX" on it (I also read at one novel about this issue). And yesterday I just found the clip which caused this controversy, here it is...

What do you think??

::: the controversy clip

Bagaimana pendapat temen2??

All About Six

Note: because this message is very long, so I just write it in English.... :) sorry for the inconvenience

I got a homework from
Aunty Miniez to write "All About Six" (6 things which really made me both feel happy and sad). Ok, and here they are:

FIRST PART (HAPPY)

1. Being one of the best student: Thanks be to God because He always bless me especially at school (not only ay school actually but in this case I wanna emphasize it... :D). I didn't always get the highest mark at school (especially when I was in Elementary School and Junior High School), but my mark was included in the top 10 or top 5 in school, or top 3 in class. In Senior High School it went better and better... :)

2. Going abroad on holiday. In the end of 2003 until the beginning of 2004, my family and some other families went abroad on holiday. We went to Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and China (only acrossed the river from Hong Kong to the city "Shen Zhen"). We were in Singapore only one night (so we just walked around Orchard Road and Sentosa Island the next morning, because in the afternoon, our flight to Bangkok, Thailand departed). We spent 4 nights in Thailand (3 night in Bangkok and 1 night in Pattaya). We went to some temples and looked at the Emerald Buddha, Sleeping Buddha, and Golden Buddha statues. We also went to Crocodile Park (I was so excited watching the crocodile show, the model put his head into the crocodile's mouth!!!). At Pattaya, we also watched Alcatraz Show (transsexual show), they were not like queers actually (we would not have found out that they were transsexual if we hadn't been told by the guide or if we didn't look at them so carefully). Then, we went to Shen Zhen (our flight was to Hong Kong, so we went to Hong Kong first, then by bus we went to Shen Zhen). We went to "Window of The World", a miniature park of the world, and "Window of China", a miniature park about China. We also wacthed some shows which were fantastic there. After spending 2 nights there, we moved to Hong Kong. We went to Maddame Tussaud's Wax Museum and also went on walk around the city Hong Kong. After that, we went back to Indonesia. It was my first experience to go abroad.... :)

3. When my driving license was granted. Because of that, now I can go everywhere by car without worrying the police. It doesn't mean I can drive carelessly or break the rules; but at least if the worst thing happens (ex: I get caught by the police, or etc), I have the driving license... :)

4. When I got my new first cellular phone. Actually, for my peer, I was pretty "late" when I got my first cellular phone. My parents bought my first cellphone to me (N 3650) 3 years ago, after my final examination of Junior High School. Most of my friends had already owned cellular phones at that time (even when we were in the first grade of JHS). But that's okay, I was still happy at that time... :D

5. Going to Malaysia (going abroad on holiday part II). In the end of 2004 until the beginning of 2005 my family and one other family went to Malaysia to spend our Christmas - New Year Holiday time... . At first we stayed at Sunway Lagoon and played at the theme park. Then, we moved to Genting Highlands and stayed 2 days long. We went to the mall and theme park too... . Well, I couldn't enter the casino because I was still too young at that time (well, even right now I still can't enter it, lol he3... :D). Then, because of the tsunami disaster, we cancelled our plan to Penang Island and prolonged our stay at Kuala Lumpur >> in Malaysia, we still can speak Bahasa Indonesia to the people there... :) After that, we went back to Indonesia

6. When my little brother was born. I was still 3 years old at that time but I still remember that I was so happy at that time... :D

SECOND PART (SAD)

1. When disasters kept coming on Jogjakarta. Almost three weeks ago (when I was in Bali), a massive earthquake shook my city, after that, the activity of the volcano Merapi raised... . Those disasters made me feel sad.... :(

2. When my dad was sick and had to be treated at the hospital. About 4.5 years ago, my dad got a heart attack and had to be treated at Panti Rapih Hospital for about 10 days. After that, he was permitted to go back home, but he didn't get over really well and his face was so pale. Then, my aunt from Surabaya recommended to go to Jakarta and checked my father's heart there. Wow, so lucky my father went to Jakarta, there we found out that the artery (Arteria coronaria) was still clogged by 95% even after he consumed some drug, then he had a surgery and put a stent on it, and after that his condition got better and better.

3. When my grandfathers passed away. Twelve and nine years ago, my grandfathers (one from my father and the other of course from my mother) passed away. Everybody feels sad when one of their relative pass' away, and so do I....

4. Feeling so lonely. Sometimes in the past I also felt so lonely, that was obviously not fun... :(

5. Being separated from my friends. I always don't like the moment when I got separated from my friends, for example when we enter different school (if still in one city, not really a problem; but if in two different cities, that's the problem.... :( ) or different colleges (like what happens now...).

6. When people lie at me. I really hate people who lie at me, because they have already broken my trust on them (that's the first thing) or because they don't trust on me (because they don't trust on me, so they lie to me, that sometimes happened when I was a kid).

------------------------

I throw this homework to:
1. Dian Decante
2. Yulia
3. Nao
4. Meli Bong
5. Wina
6. Hendri Bun

Unnecesarry Debate

ENGLISH

As you know, two weeks ago when I came back from Bali, my flight landed at Adisumarmo Airport and of course my friends and I had to spend extra money to pay taxi fee from Solo to Jogja. If you have no idea what the hell I am talking right now, click
here. If you have read that message carefully, you would have found out that the fee was not Garuda's responsibility, and this issue caused a small unnecesarry debate in the cab between me and one of my friend (just said A). Here is the conversation (not the exact words because my memory is not that great, but more or less, this is the conversation):

note: words in italic are our conversation, and words in brackets are my comment(s) right now

A : Arrgghh, we had to spend more money because of this, Garuda s****, a****** (well, the curse words were all in Indonesian actually... :D)
Z : Yea, we have already talked about it several times, come on. Why don't you just calm down?
A :
But Garuda is the one who is supposed to pay the taxi fee from Solo to Jogja, our ticket is Bali - Jogja, and now we land at Solo!! or Garuda should have already provided bus or something for us (and also other passengers) to go to Jogja...
Z : I guess you know why Garuda didn't land at Jogja. That's because of the disaster and Adisutjipto Airport is still closed, isn't it?
A : Yes
Z : So, is that Garuda's fault if our flight landed at Solo?
A : It's not but Garuda should pay the fee, our destination in our ticket is to Jogja, not Solo....
Z : But this is because of the disaster, that ticket was printed before the disaster, who knew this disaster would happen?
A : IMO, Garuda is still the one who is responsible with our transport to Jogja
Z : I understand what you mean and also agree with you, but this is also not Garuda's fault. If this was Garuda's fault, I believe Garuda would provide bus or something for us to Jogja.
A : Are you happy with this? That we have to spend more money?
Z : I'm obviously not happy with this, who the hell on earth is happy with this?? But at least let's see from Garuda's side
A : Why should we see from Garuda's side?? That's worthless
Z : Worthless?? I don't think so, at least we understand how Garuda's management think and work about this.
A : Hah?? Does that help you? Nope
Z : It does help. At least I don't keep moaning. One thing that I don't like is somebody who keeps on moaning which is actually useless... (wow, after that I realized that it was probably pretty offensive... :D)
A : Moaning?? I'm not moaning
Z : Yes, you are moaning and also complaining
A : No, I'm not moaning, but probably yes, I'm complaining
Z : and what do or will you get?? Will Garuda pay this taxi fee after you do moan all the time in this cab to us? That's useless, come on, just accept it, I'm so tired right now. Then, one more thing, at first, people moaned, then because of that they complained. So, moan causes complaint
A : That doesn't make any sense, so weird

then I didn't reply and chose to end this unnecesarry debate, he3.....

-- THE END --

That's unnercesarry, isn't it? :) >> actually at that time I was too tired and had no spirit to go on the debate, but I thought if I always kept silent people would "underestimate" me (most the time I am too lazy to do mouth to mouth debate and prefer to avoid it or give in (even if actually I still can speak about it >> avoid further "hot situation" which is, I think, uncomfortable)) and second, I would have to hear the same complaint over and over.

My point at this debate: I didn't disagree with my friend's argument, I did agree and had the same thought, BUT the problem was: He moaned all the time and did that again and again which I thought was useless

INDONESIAN

Kenapa kamu nggak tenang aja?
A :
A : Iya
A : Apa kamu senang sama ini?
A : Untuk apa kita melihat dari sudut pandangnya Garuda?? Nggak ada gunanya
Z : Nggak berguna?? Aku nggak setuju deh, paling nggak kan kita paham bagaimana manajemennya Garuda berpikir dan bertindak mengenai hal ini
A : Hah?? Apa itu menolong? Nggak
Z : Bener-bener menolong. Minimal aku nggak selalu mengeluh. :D)
A : Mengeluh?? Aku nggak mengeluh
Z : Iya, kamu mengeluh dan juga komplain
A : Nggak, aku nggak mengeluh, tapi mungkin iya, aku komplain ,
Jadi, mengeluh menyebabkan komplain.
A : Nggak masuk akal sama sekali, aneh banget

trus aku gak jawab, memilih mengakhiri debat nggak penting ini, he3.....

-- SELESAI --

Money Money Money

ENGLISH

I think all of us agree that money is one important thing in our life. Without money, we can't live (probably except some traditional tribes who still live their own ways and pretty secluded from the civilization). Here, I don't want to write about that big thing, but about small thing that happens around me.

I used to be kind and generous. For example when my friends and I had meal somewhere, usually I paid all first then my friends paid to me. I also let my friends copied many mp3s or videos from my computer, then used my blank CD, and made new CD for them, and I didn't take any charge. I also took them with my car, so I had to take them from their home, then went somewhere, sometimes went to my house, then I took them home back. At first actually I was okay and no problem with that. But as time flew, I don't think that's okay or no problem... . Why?? Because sometimes recently I also felt that they exploited me. Here's some examples. One day we had dinner at one restaurant, and as usual I paid first. Then, my friend should pay me Rp. 70,000.oo but he only paid Rp. 50,000.oo and said he would paid the rest later. But the fact is: he NEVER pays the rest. Or sometimes, he didn't even PAY the Rp. 70,000.oo that he was supposed to pay. And if I ask him about his loan to me (because I need the money and I don't take any profit from that (if he loaned Rp 100,000.oo I would ask Rp 100,000.oo, NOT Rp 120,000.oo)), he says: "NO, I don't loan anything to you!!" That's also my fault actually because I didn't bring the bills, but I think even if I had brought the bill, it would not have changed a lot (probably he would say that he had already paid Rp. 70,000.oo). Then, one day he said to me he wanted to go to my house and I said okay, but then he said that I had to take him home, what!?!?!? That's pretty weird, I knew what he was gonna do in my house, he wanted to copy many mp3s or videos again, and of course used my blank CD again. I was also tired that day and said that probably I couldn't take him home, and I would call a taxi for him when he wanted to go home. But he refused, he didn't want to go to my house if I didn't take him home... . Umm, that's weird.... . Then, one day, because I was fed up with that, I said everybody should pay themselves (I didn't want to pay for all first again), and he said I was very stingy, but I didn't care. And of course, I didn't lose any money that I actually deserved. I think there are many people out there who are also like that, when I told this problem to one of my friend, I knew that some of my friend's friends are also like that.... . Well, not all of my friends are like that, many of them (or most of them) are honest and fair. So???

----

Talking about the show Indonesian Idol last night, we finally eliminated Lee. That was a correct decision I think, since IMO, some of the worst performers last night were Lee, Dirly, Ihsan, and Tesa.

Aku tuh dulu baik banget loh. . Kenapa?? Soalnya kadang-kadang akhir-akhir ini aku merasa kalo mereka memanfaatkan aku. Ini beberapa contohnya. Suatu hari kami makan di sebuah restoran, kemudian kayak biasanya, aku yang bayar dulu. Trus, temenku seharusnya membayar Rp. 70.000,oo tapi dia cuma membayar Rp. 50.000,oo dan ngomong kalo sisanya akan dibayar kemudian. Tapi kenyataannya: dia TIDAK PERNAH membayar sisanya. Jadi???

----

Ngomong-ngomong tentang show Indonesian Idol semalam, akhirnya Lee tereliminasi.

World Cup starts TODAY!!!

ENGLISH

All soccer mania all over the world must be very happy and excited today since the worldwide event which is held only once in four years, THE WORLD CUP, starts today....

I am not a soccer mania actually, and also seldom (or never) watching football match, but for World Cup, I don't know why but I am pretty interested in it. Even probably I don't watch the match, but I also feel pretty curious to know the result... :) Four years ago when this event was held in Korea-Japan (I was in the second year of Junior High-School) I also felt the same....

::: The World Cup

My Bali Vacation PART THREE (Day 6 and 7)

ENGLISH

previous part................

Day 6

Because we were so sleepy, we got up pretty late at 10.30 AM in the morning, and because of that, unfortunately, we automatically wasted our breakfast vouchers (only available until 10 AM) that day. Then, after everybody was ready, we walked to the airport to go to Garuda Indonesia office again to ask again about our flight back to Jogjakarta the next day. The answer was still the same, the flight would not land at Adisutjipto Airport, but at Adisumarmo Airport Solo, and the transport from Solo to Jogjakarta was not Garuda's responsibility. Ok, after that we had lunch at a chinese food restaurant (I don't remember the name, but it was somewhere near the airport, not very close actually, about 5 minutes by taxi). Then, we went back to our hotel (we dropped in a laundry first, my friend wanted to take his clothes).

That evening, we planned to go to Jimbaran Bay to have dinner there. Well, the driver (who we hired to bring us to Bedugul and Lovina the previous days) offered to bring us to Jimbaran Bay with special rates, Rp. 100,000.oo and he would bring us to one cheap restaurant that he knew. He said that if we went there by taxi, we would have to pay more expensive, around Rp. 120,000.oo or even more. Because we had already been suspicious and disappointed to the driver, we just said okey and if we wanted to hire him again, we would call him (and of course we didn't call him. Okay, probably the taxi fee would be more expensive Rp. 20,000.oo but cheap restaurant that he knew?? After having experience with him bringing us to a buffet restaurant, we didn't think that's cheap. We were pretty sure that he would bring us to restaurant which would give him tips, and of course it was not gonnabe cheap....). Then, we caught a taxi and guess what?? The taxi rate was only Rp. 23,000.oo which means around Rp. 46,000.oo vv. Fiuuhhh.... . Lucky we didn't step into alligator’s mouth. Then, because there were so many restaurants, we chose the closest one and had dinner there. We chose our table first, then after ordering drinks, we ordered our meal. There were only some choices of seafood: fish, mussels, calamari, crabs, and prawns. And after ordered mine, I went back to my seat and enjoyed the evening view of Jimbaran Bay and Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali (the location was pretty close to the airport so we could watch many planes took off or landed). Then, finally our meals came and we started to eat. The food was not very tasty (at least for us, I don't know for other people) actually >> one of my friend complained to us (which is actually totally useless) because the food was not tasty (and the price was so high), but he ate 4 plates of rice... . Hmmmm... . But when we come to Jimbaran, we shouldn't expect tasty food, because of some reasons. First, Jimbaran is in Bali, and probably our tongue doesn't suit with Bali's food. Second, when we go to Jimbaran we are mainly looking for the atmosphere (the bay, etc), so food is number two. After that, we went back home by taxi, and yes, it was only Rp. 24,000.oo.

Day 7

We got up at 9 AM in the morning, and this day we didn't waste our breakfast vouchers. We had breakfast there in the hotel. Then, after packing our luggages, we still had about 8 hours before our flight took off (it took off at 6.50 PM according to the schedule), and what were we gonna do in that 8 hours?? We were confused at first, and finally we decided to go to Bali Galeria Mall in Simpang Siur.

Hmm, the mall was apparently not very crowded at that time (or probably because we came there too early). So, we went and also wasted our time in Gramedia to buy some books. After that, we had lunch at the food court. Then, because it was still 1.45 PM, we decided to watch a movie at Cinema21. There were only 2 rooms and 2 movies there, X-Men III The Last Stand in room 1, and The DaVinci Code in room 2. Because I had already watched DVC (only me who had already watched that movie actually), so we watched X-Men III. The movie started at 2.15 PM and unfortunately, because we were pretty late buying the tickets, we got the front seats (the nearest to the screen which was not very comfortable). Okay, then I tried to enjoy the film (actually I don't really like the story X-Men), and I could enjoy it. It was pretty good with high-imagination, but I still prefer DVC to X-Men III... :) The movie ended at about 4 PM, and then we left the mall, took our luggages from our hotel, then went to the airport directly.

Unfortunately, we were too early about 20 minutes (the check-in table for GA 255 had not been open yet, so we had to wait). Luckily I bought some comics at Gramedia that afternoon, and I could read it while we were waiting for it. Then, after 20 minutes, we checked-in, and we still had about 2 hours before our flight. So, we went to KFC first and had dinner there. After that, we went to the waiting area and waited for our flight at Gate 16. Then, there was an announcement that GA 255 would be delayed until 7 PM (that's not really a problem, only 10 minutes late). At 7 PM, we boarded to our plane and took off from Bali at about 7.10 PM.
Bye bye Bali..... :)

On board, there was a stupid, selfish, idiot, sux man. Before the plane took off, the air stewardess reminded him to turn off his cellphone, and he said okay. But guess what?? When we were flying, he sent some sms' and also received some.... :( Arrrggghhhh.... . The weather at that time was not very nice, and he held his cellphone, kept it active, and sent sms?? Arrggghhhh..... . Lucky our flight was okay. Then, after 1 hour flying, we finally landed at Adisumarmo Airport, Solo. That was my first time to Adisumarmo Airport, the runway was okay (better than Jogjakarta Airport's runway). But, the terminal building was terrible, Jogjakarta's was a lot better.... :) Then, we caught a taxi and went back to Yogyakarta, and after 1 more hour journey, I arrived at my house.

INDONESIAN

bagian sebelumnya..............

Hari 6

. Hmmmm... .
